In just one month from now the Toon Studio area at Paris Walt Disney Studios
will begin soft opening. No need to say that Disney is rushing to have
everything ready for the big day. Thanks to great "inside the fences" shots,
you'll see more today than you seen before on Toon Studios. And, our great big
thanks again to the great
www.dlrp.fr
website for their help
with today's photo tour.

As we know the two new attractions "Cars Race Rally" and "Crush’s Coaster"
are based on the two Pixar movies. The "Nemo" ride for the most part is inside,
but how will the rest that new land look outside?
When visitors turn right at Studio 1's exit to enter this new land, the first
thing they'll notice is new pavement! The idea here was to have something
inspired by a Scottish "Tartan" pattern. It makes for a distinctive change from
the rest of the Studios..

The nearby animation building is totally repainted, with the only things
still to add the Mickey sorcerer statue and the golden Disney characters to the
sorcerer’s hat. Across the way, the "Animagique" building now sports a blue
facade, some purple is currently being added; too. A new kind of tree is also
now in place.

But it’s the two new attractions where it’s getting interesting: the Crush
facade is now finished, and they a few railings in the front. This should
keep visitors from falling or jumping on the coaster track when the vehicles
dart out of the building briefly before re-entering into the dark ride section.

It looks like there was a change to the attraction sign. Previously a Crush
statue was supposed to be held up by some giant seaweed (below left), and it
would have even turned around - just like the ride vehicle.

It seems this was replaced by four huge pier pilings (above right), with a type of harbor
sign with the name of the attraction on it, and no more turning Crush. As there are many
other wooden utility poles on the other side in the "Cars" area, there may be
some design logic in all this...
