getting some new life and is Pixar really holding people

Brad
Bird's '1906'
Brad Bird (Director of The Incredibles, Ratatouille and the
lesser known, but just as great Iron Giant) is making the leap
to live-action. The Director will be helming the feature 1906
(about the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake) in a collaborative
effort with Warner Bros. and Disney/Pixar. This will be the
first time Brad Bird has directed live-action since an episode
of Amazing Stories in 1987.

sets new 'Muppets' movie team
Disney has enlisted two writers to begin working on the next Muppets
movie. And the world rejoiced. Jason Segal and Nick Stroller
are not who you would expect to see scribing
the next Muppets movie. They have collectively worked on previous
films such as Knocked Up, Fun with Dick and Jane and the upcoming
Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Will this change in the guard bring
new life to the Muppets? Let's hope so.

Pixar Surpressing New Talent?
It's very hard to knock Pixar and the success they have had
both financially and critically. But a recent article from the
LA Times takes a look at some former Pixar alumni who were not
given the chance to direct and went on to direct for other studios,
with varying levels of success. Maybe Pixar saw something missing
in these directors. I mean, who REALLY is clamoring for the
director of Open Season to direct the next Pixar film?
